We recommend choosing an engagement photo location that feels meaningful to you or captures a vibe you absolutely love. If you’re looking for ideas, here are some of our favorite spots:

  • The Morton Arboretum & Cantigny: We have annual passes, so no permit fees! Both locations offer lush, scenic backgrounds.
  • Downtown Chicago: Iconic spots like Olive Park, the Wrigley Building, The River Walk, Chicago Theatre, and Lincoln Park offer beautiful cityscapes and allow us to capture multiple locations.
  • Downtown Aurora: This spot is permit-free and has a charming, urban vibe perfect for diverse shots.
  • Matthiessen State Park: For the adventurous, this park offers breathtaking natural landscapes!

Engagement Session FAQ’s

  • Can I schedule an engagement shoot without a location selected?

Absolutely! Many couples choose to lock in a date before deciding on a location. Just let us know your location at least 24 hours before the shoot, and we’ll be all set!

  • Is there a cancellation fee?

Nope! We understand that sometimes weather or life just isn’t ideal for a session. We’re committed to ensuring your experience and photos are perfect, so feel free to reschedule to a better day without any fees.

  • Should I bring a second outfit?

We highly recommend bringing a second look. Feel free to bring any props you’d like us to incorporate as well.

  • Can I bring my pet?

Of course! Just bring along a friend or family member who can help handle your pet when they’re not in photos.

  • When is payment due?

No payment is required until we complete the edits.

  • How do I make the payment?

You can pay via Chase Quickpay to Katie@windycityproduction.com, Venmo @Windycityproduction, check made out to “Windy City Production,” or physical cash (for a 5% discount). For digital payments (Zelle, Venmo, Chase Quickpay), feel free to send a small test payment, and we’ll confirm once received.   • How long does it take to receive the edited photos?

For all Katie and Sam engagement sessions, expect fully edited photos within 14 days.
